Overview

Roger is the non-executive chairman of the firm and works closely with Charles on matters of the firm’s strategy and direction of travel.

Roger is also an active solicitor and has a substantial client portfolio including some well known names. He is a seasoned and highly commercial corporate lawyer and also undertakes high end private client work. He is a trustee and executor of several significant estates.

Roger is renowned in the legal industry for his commerciality, ability to negotiate, and reach successful outcomes for his clients.

Experience

Roger was the co-founder of DLA Piper UK LLP which became the biggest law firm in the world. He retired as the Senior Consultant of the firm in 2019.

Roger is an adviser and consultant to Timpson Group PLC, MS International PLC, Mostyn Estates Limited, Dynamic Controls Limited, Flywheel IT Services Limited, Lomond Capital Limited, and Crosslane Property Group Limited.

Through his consultancy Lane-Smith Consultants SAS he operates a range of corporate finance consultancy activities, high net worth advisory work as well as operating his own substantial commercial olive oil business in France.
